Amber Almanac Bookings LLC runs a booking desk at 6940 O Street, Suite 210, Lincoln, NE 68510. Somebody fills in the request form, this office reads it, and this office asks the companies that actually run the trip whether the dates are open and what they would charge. That errand is the only reason your details exist here. Nothing on this page is a summary of a longer document kept somewhere else. This is the document.
Two things are worth saying before the itemized parts, because they cover most of what people write in to ask about.
The first: no payment ever passes through this office. There is no checkout on this site, no card field on any page, and no member account to open. When a reservation goes ahead, the operating company invoices you direct, under its own agreement and its own privacy handling, and it pays this office a commission afterward. So the card number that eventually gets typed is typed on their side of the arrangement, not ours, and there is no version of this website that would accept one.
The second: this site does not measure you. No analytics cookie is set. No measurement script, tag, pixel or third party beacon loads on any page, including this one. Nobody here can tell you which pages you looked at or how long you stayed, because nothing here writes that down.
The fields on the request form
- Your name
- Free text. Whatever you type is what gets used in the message to the operating company.
- Email address
- Required, because a written figure priced against particular dates comes back in writing and needs somewhere to land.
- Telephone number
- Optional and left blank often. Given only if you would rather be reached that way about one specific request.
- The trip you are asking about
- Which of the twenty four you want priced, taken from the page you started on.
- Dates or a rough window
- Whatever you know. "Second half of March" is a usable answer.
- Number of travelers, and ages if children are coming
- Operating companies price by head and some of them price children differently, so the question has to be asked.
- Anything else you want the desk to know
- An open box. Stairs are hard, one of you does not fly well, you are joining friends already there. Write as much or as little as suits you.
- A hidden field you cannot see
- Left empty by a person and filled in by automated form submissions. If it has anything in it, the message is discarded unread.
That list is complete. There is no field for a card number, a bank account, a national identification number, a passport number, a driver license, a date of birth, an employer, an income figure or anything about your health beyond what you choose to write in the open box. If a form on some other website asks you for those on behalf of Amber Almanac, it is not this office, and errata@amberalmanac.com would like to hear about it.
The form itself never closes, so a request written at four in the morning is accepted the same as one written at noon. opened by somebody here before that working day is out A figure priced against real dates runs two to four working days, held up by whichever firm answers last, because two operating companies have to answer first and they answer on their own schedule.
Who sees a request after you send it
- This office
- Two people read requests. They see everything on the form.
- The operating companies needed to answer
- Usually one, sometimes two, when a trip is run by different companies on different legs. They get the trip, the dates, the head count and ages, and any access or dietary note that changes what they quote.
- The mail provider carrying the message
- Standard email in transit, the same as any other message you send.
- Nobody else
- No data broker, no list buyer, no advertising network, no partner program, no affiliate.
Amber Almanac sells nothing about you, rents nothing about you, and shares nothing beyond the errand described above. There is no arrangement under which a third party pays this office for access to inquiries, and this office would not enter one. If a request needs a second operating company, the desk names that company to you in the reply, so you know who has your dates.
Requests are read by people, not scored by software. There is no automated decision making here of any kind and nothing about you is profiled.
The one thing your browser remembers
The site prints its catalogue in five different orders, and it remembers which order you last chose so the next page you open matches. That preference is stored in your browser under a single key, holds a short word such as the ordering slug, and never leaves your machine. It is not a cookie in the sense that matters, because it is not sent to any server, and it identifies nothing about you.
Clearing your browser storage removes it and the site starts again from its default order, which is a change nobody notices. Nothing else is written to your browser. No session identifier, no visitor number, no consent record, because there is nothing to consent to.
The clock on everything you send
- A request that leads nowhere
- Kept twelve months, then deleted. Twelve because people come back the following season referring to what they asked last time, and looking it up saves them repeating themselves.
- A request that turns into a reservation
- Kept three years from the date of return, because commission is paid after you travel and questions about a booking have surfaced two seasons later.
- Email correspondence
- Lives inside the same twelve month or three year window as the request it belongs to.
- Discarded automated submissions
- Deleted the same week, unread.
- Anything else
- There is nothing else.
Deletion means removal from the working mailbox and from the spreadsheet the desk keeps of open requests. What an operating company holds after it has quoted you is governed by that company's own handling, and if you want it gone from their side as well, ask this office and the desk will forward the request and tell you what came back.
Asking for a copy, a correction, or removal
Write to errata@amberalmanac.com and say which you want. A copy means everything held under your name and email, sent back to you as plain text. A correction means a misspelled name, a wrong number of travelers, a date that changed. Removal means the whole record goes.
Include the email address you originally wrote from, because that is how a record is found. The desk does not ask for identity documents to prove who you are and would not know what to do with one, so please do not send any. If the email address you used no longer works, describe the request instead, roughly when you sent it and which trip it concerned, and the desk will work from that.
Requests of this kind are answered within the same reading rhythm as everything else, and removal is done rather than queued. If the record has already aged out of the windows above, the reply will say so plainly.
Two things this office does not do
Amber Almanac keeps clear of cover and of paperwork for crossing borders, and says so rather than guessing, and does not give medical or legal advice. That matters here because those subjects are the ones that would otherwise draw sensitive information onto the form. If a trip raises a question of that kind, the answer will be to point you at the operating company or a qualified professional, and no health, immigration or legal detail needs to be typed into this site to get that answer.
Amber Almanac also publishes no opinions and grades nothing. There is no scoring of trips and no scoring of people, so no reputation, ranking or profile about you exists to be corrected.
Changes to this page, and where to write
If this page changes, the changed version replaces this one and it says at the foot which day it changed. There is no mailing list to notify, because this office keeps none and sends no marketing messages of any kind. Everything here is inbound: you write in, and the desk writes back about the thing you asked.
